The Project (What)
Theme: I am me when...
The In-Class Portion:
Project Planning Questions
· I’m me when I’m (verb goes here i.e. reading, dancing, running, chatting with friends, cooking, painting, hunting, telling a joke, etc.)
· I feel (i.e. at peace, angry, happy, panicked, ecstatic) when (this) happens. Be sure to give a specific example.
· If I could choose a color to represent my personality (not my favorite color necessarily), what would it be and WHY?
· My style is… (i.e. loose and free flowing, tight and controlled, unpredictable, planned out, spontaneous, messy, etc.)
· A media or material that works best with my style is … (i.e. watercolor, charcoal, colored pencils, graphite pencil, paint, etc.)
Project: Silhouette on Cardstock
1. Using information about yourself, create an interesting pose that incorporates when you are the most “real” you doing what? This is your silhouette.
2. Positive and negative can be used to divide where the colors and or patterns you choose go.
3. Incorporate your personality and emotion through color and let color make an impact in your piece by limiting your palette.
4. Choose materials and media that you are comfortable with that fit your personality style.
5. Be prepared to bring this completed individual piece to the first collaboration meeting February 6th 2013.
6. Complete typed artist statement summarizing media, color, imagery choices.
